ITINERARY
This tour provides plenty of time to see the main highlights of Cappadocia as well as have time on your own to explore other sights of interest in the area. For example: Eski Gumusler Manastri and various hidden valleys.
Day 1 :
We will pick you up at your hotel early in the morning and transfer you to the airport for your flight from Istanbul to Kayseri or Nevsehir. Upon arrival we’ll transfer you to your hotel, where you will be picked up for your tour of the wonders of Cappadocia.
You’ll visit the Dervent Imagination Valley to see a few unique fairy-chimneys, Pasabag (Monk’s Valley) to see mushroom-shaped pinnacles. We will continue to the city of Avanos for a pottery demonstration and lunch. After lunch we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, the largest concentration of rock-cut churches and monasteries in Cappadocia, many with incredible Byzantine frescoes of old and new testament scenes. We will see the natural rock-castle in Uchisar, before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 2:
After breakfast at your hotel we’ll depart for Red valley to explore its famous rock – cut churches and hike 5km through the Gulludere valley. We’ll visit Cavusin village, famous for its houses and churches of Christian clergymen. After lunch we’ll drive to Pigeon Valley and we’ll visit the Kaymaklı underground city where early Christians lived in fear of invaders. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3 :
After breakfast at your hotel we’ll depart to see Derinkuyu, the eight level underground city, carved by early Christians to protect themselves from persecutors. We’ll drive to Ihlara Valley, formerly known as Peristerema for lunch. We’ll explore its famous rock-cut churches, hike 4 km through the Valley, and visit the monasteries in Selime village. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4 :
After breakfast at your hotel you have the day free to explore Cappadocia on your own before your evening flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul we will transfer you to your hotel. In addition to a Hot Air Balloon ride or going horseback riding. Other sights you might want to consider are Eski Gumusler Manastri and various hidden valleys.
