Turkish megastar Tarkan is coming to Istanbul for a performance at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Stage on August 26-28. Tarkan is a World Music Award-winning Turkish pop singer who has been nicknamed the “Prince of Pop” by the local media. He has released several platinum-selling albums during his career and has sold approximately 29 million albums and singles. Tarkan also produces music through his own company, HITT Music, which he established in February 1997.
Tarkan is known as one of the few European singers to achieve chart success across three continents without singing in English. The Washington Post has compared him to Elvis Presley, and Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegün described him as one of the best live performers he has ever seen. Tarkan has also been listed by Rhapsody as a key artist in the history of European pop music due to the influence of his signature song “Şımarık”.
